ITALIAN LITERATURE The Dawn Of Literature (From Origin To 1300), a synoptic vision of the development of Italian writing, setting authors in their historical context in order to position their works in the Italian and indeed European traditions. The Rediscovery Of Man (1400 – 1700). This course takes the dividing line between the Medieval world view and Humanism as its starting point. As the middle ages came to an end, new aspirations and ways of thinking emerged redefining Man as productive, positive, and entwined with the universe he inhabits. This course follows the laborious and polemical process of forming an independent and united Italy. Literature and Art, a Mirror Reflecting Man and Society (1900).
