WHO qualifies for an internship programme at il sillabo?

The programme is aimed at students who are over 18 and would like to combine learning Italian with relevant work experience. There are no special entry requirements to the programme, although you should have basic Italian, be prepared to collaborate and be open to new working practices and ideas. The programme is ideal for open-minded, young students looking for a different and exciting challenge. If you are flexible and seriously want to improve your language skills then this programme is for you. An internship is the perfect way to make Italian friends and to understand the Italian culture and lifestyle.

WHAT type of internship can il sillabo find for you?

After attending an intensive Italian language course, we will find you a placement in a local company. You will be provided with free meals and accommodation and you are expected to take part in the daily activity of the company. Your learning through practical experience will be gradual and 'natural'. Internships are mostly in local restaurants and hotels.

General conditions & prices

• The minimum length of stay is 8 weeks (4-week language course + 4-week internship) – the maximum length is 48-weeks (24-weeks language course + 24-internship).
• Il Sillabo only offers Internship programmes to students who have completed at least a 4-week Intensive course in Italian.
• In addition to fees for the initial language course and accommodation/meals during the course, there is an enrolment fee of 155 EURO for our internment programme. In certain cases we charge an additional fee which depends on the course duration: 4 weeks - 20 €, 8 settimane - 40 € etc.
• The internship programme is unpaid but it includes accommodation and meals during the work experience part of the programme as well as work insurance.
• Il Sillabo is always available to help students, should they meet any difficulty or inconvenience. We guarantee our assistance and support.
• Il Sillabo reserves the right to cancel/postpone the internship programme if it is deemed that the student has not gained an adequate level of Italian. In such cases the internship fee will be converted into the equivalent number of Italian language lessons (accommodation not included).

How to apply:

Please fill in the Application Form for our Italian Language courses and attach the following documents: curriculum vitae and introduction letter requesting an Internship programme (please specify dates, fields of interest, place and date of birth and your reasons for applying). Later students will get a form for the Internship to be signed.
